I'm a state licensed plumber, state licensed plumbing contractor, state licensed back flow inspector in 2 states, Illinois and Arizona.
I some times I got to dig up a broken sewer or water pipe. The Village of Palatine (and some others), don't care less, if some one falls in the hole, they don't care if the hole stays open for a week, month or maybe 6 months. Regardless of the danger it presents. They just don't care for us folks, just don't care. I have seen it time and time again.
I got a billion stories, this is one of the saddest, sorriest departments that I have come across, Des Plaines was about the nicest...... I am referring to the counter personal and department
